Year 10 Bright Day

Bright Day Tuesday 1st December – ‘Talk about the Future’

Preparing our pupils for life post Farnborough and ensuring they leave the Academy equipped with the skills to become employable young people is one of our main objectives and strengths.

We are very fortunate to be able to host an employability day for year 10 delivered by expert trainers from the charity ‘Talk the Talk’ whose mission is to improve students’ communication skills to enable positive interaction in all life situations.

The theme of the day is ‘talk about the future’ which supports pupils in preparing to leave school or college by developing the competencies needed to take this step with confidence and a positive mindset.

Leaving school to enter the world of work, further training or education is both an exciting and daunting time. The prospect of independence is often overwhelming. Students often leave school with an array of experiences – yet don’t quite realise how these experiences have equipped them with a unique skill set. We ensure students define their own skill set and have the confidence to talk about themselves in all manner of life situations
