GCSE Celebrations

Students and staff at The Farnborough Academy, part of the Spencer Academies Trust, are celebrating a bumper set of GCSE results this year.

Graeme Smith, Principal, said “Given the unprecedented disruption to the education of our GCSE students, we are delighted our young people have achieved a set of results that reflect the hard work and effort that they have put in. They have risen to every challenge throughout this pandemic and shown extraordinary resilience and determination. Students cannot do this alone, and I must also thank our hard working staff who have gone above and beyond, in extraordinary circumstances, to ensure our students’ success.”

James Bonella, Assistant Principal for Year 11, added “I have been proud to work with this year group, supporting them to succeed. They will be rightly pleased with their examination results, but they will also take with them the wider skills and experiences they had while at Farnborough. We are excited to see how they use these to progress to the next phase in their lives. We look forward to celebrating with them today.”

Students will be continuing their education at establishments, including Nottingham High School, Rushcliffe School, and New College Nottingham, as well as completing high quality apprenticeships. This reflects the broad opportunity available to young people at The Farnborough Academy. The results that the students have achieved reflect the improvement journey of the academy, as we look forward to welcoming our largest ever Year 7 in September.

Congratulations to the Class of 2021. You should be very proud.
